Amazon app auto playing video on launch

I’ve deleted the Amazon app from my devices (probably a good thing for my wallet!) thanks to it’s hard push on Amazon prime video. Everyone I launch the app I get a full screen video advert for Prime video. I don’t see any setting to turn this off, please let me know if you find this setting. I’m a prime member so not sure if this is a new marketing tactic or a bug but I definitely don’t like the intrusion.
